@1moretoney i think it's someone with such a low self esteem that they feel like they have to apologize for being born. anyways there's no controversy. black people are cool with white people going to see the movie and the movie itself wasn't PC or race baiting at all so snow flakes on both sides would have to make shit up about the movie to complain about it. the theme to the movie was the basic hero/villain type of movie. how should power be handled with the good guy knowing how to handle it without abusing it and the villain letting his ego run things unchecked.

it was about the typical power struggle in the hero myths with the hero knowing/learning how to handle the responsibility of power without abusing it whereas the villain lets his ego go unchecked and govern his decisions which leads to him being the bad guy who abuses his power. it's kind of deep. it's just that the theme is a redundant one.

wasn't there only one black character on asgaard? plus asgaard is still marvel fiction based on norse mythology and africa is a real continent where most of the countries are all black.

@zwenk wiel stan lee and jack kirby created the black panther back in 1961 and they are both white. the movie didn't have race as a theme though. it was the typical power struggle in hero myths with the moral lesson on how to use and not abuse power. the superhero has the spiritual knowledge on how to use power without abusing it and the villain is ego driven and abuses it and doesn't care if he abuses it or not.

the only complaint that i can imagine would be that the theme was a redundant one. i don't mind the theme being redundant but that is one of the complaints that i've heard about the movie.

it's a good movie that wasn't even doing racial overtones. it took place in a fictional african country with an african super hero and so of course most of the cast was black. i have a feeling that the few people complaining are just trolling to see if they can create a non-existent controversy out of thin air.

@theolzee lol that's n ot what the movie was about at all. who told you that was talking out of their asses. lol the movie was about the typical marvel theme of how power is a responsibility and not a privilege. the superhero who in this case was the black panther understood this and knew that in order to be responsible about it, he needed to have self-control and keep his ego in check. the villain who was also black btw let his ego run the show and turned into a bad leader/bad guy who lead the fictional african country down the wrong, dark path for a little while before being "dethroned." i don't know what trolls you've been listening to but they lied to you if they told you that bullshit.

@dylan jones they'd see these movies as entertaining plays designed to praise their gods. :D they'd like them. those people weren't dogmatic like people today. storytellers would make things up as they went along and it wasn't a big deal to the people so long as their was a moral theme that fit within their cultural value system. in other words, they didn't really fully believe the stories. they liked them because it told a story using mythology about who they were as people and it was all metaphorical.
