  1. Gherkin is a lunatic. Here's my view on Russian opposition: "The Russians will not rise up. The Russian government has demonstrated a firm grip on power, effectively suppressing any potential dissent or opposition. The Russian population has shown a remarkable level of loyalty and support towards their government no matter what it does; no matter the negative impact on their own lives. There are no ‘Good Russians’ who are going to change Russia for the better. The government enjoys consistently high approval ratings. It is clear that the notion of a Russian uprising is pure fantasy. Therefore, it would be wise to dismiss any unfounded hope for reform in Russia and to realise that things will only get worse, until Russia becomes a ‘slavic’ version of North Korea."
