  2. The UK fought for two years compleletely alone. The US fought very bravely when they did join the fight, and were much appreciated. Many many countries fought like tigers in the cause of freedom. Germany was glad to see the end of Nazi rule. My father started the war as a prisoner of the Nazis and ended it throwing food parcels off the back of a jeep in Germany.
