  1. ‘ Kamala’…a Sanskrit, Indian word meaning ‘ lotus’ and pronounced, ‘ KamAla’. Who knows why she ignored her heritage and invented her own version. How strange.

  2.  @aletajary4362  Her mother is Indian. Kamala was brought up mostly in Canada. Ok though. If someone doesn’t like their name and wants it pronounced differently, perhaps to seem more American, no one is likely to try to stop them.
