Considering that the current Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church {ROC}, Kiril, his predecessor, Alexei II {now dec'd} and Putin were KGB (now FSB) agents, and Kiril and Putin presumably still are, their actions, or the actions of any of the priests in the church, do not surprise me at all. It is my belief that Putin has no true faith, but that he simply uses the ROC for his own nefarious and malevolent purposes. This is all part of the manipulation of the population.
