Likewise, I understand what you are saying. Particularly when the people are dying defending their families, communities, cities and country, to write or say eliminated seems somehow direspectful or diminishing the sacrifices that so many have made. Not only the people who have died, but also their families, friends and associates.

The idea of democracy is that each person has the right to hold a view that may not be the same as the views of the person or people with whom they stand. The current WAR, waged by Russia against Ukraine, is a WAR that determines whether the people of Ukraine are allowed to contribute to the Whole in their own individual ways. If Russia succeeds, the people of Ukraine will be expected to conform to the edicts of the Russian Federation, even at risk of death or jail for non-compliance. So long as a person includes the contribution that their beliefs allow, rather than imposing their beliefs on others in the way that it appears the Russians are fighting to impose, then that is democracy in action,
