  1. Probably inappropriate given recent reports about the treatment of Ukrainian POWs. I am conscious that we need to be aware of the appliscation of some ideas and there are times and the proximity to events that make one comment or another to seem to be somewhat insensitive to the anguish of others.

  6. Unfortunately, that is apparent in the fear expressed by Russian interviewees when asked any question remotely close to discussion of what they call the "special military operation" WAR. Most don't even seem to have woken up to the reality yet, despite many referring to knowledge of many deaths and widespread destruction. They just seem to wipe it all away as an inconvenient aberration.
