@thamimasuku3443 Given that the world nearly destroyed itself under imperialist flags in WWI and then tried to do it again under fashy flags in WWII, it is incredible that after 1945 every nation was able to trade without military escort. After the attacks on maritime trade leading up to US involvement in WWI, and then the wolf packs of WWII, it is interesting that the only acts of maritime violence have only recently started back up. By nationalist forces on the other side of the world, seeking their own national interests.

@braxxian There are two posits being made that contradict each other: America has a with or against us mindset, and India is neither with nor against us. Yet, much of India's economy is dependent on mutual business relationships, and American/Indian foreign policy, both political and military, is often aligned and codependent. So, either India is with us, or America is not as binary as some erroneously suggest.

@thamimasuku3443 The only place in the world today where commercial vessels need military escort is around Yemen, one of those smaller nations that have made a choice to attack mercantile shipping. Oh, and off the coast of Iran. Historically, before the two world wars, individual nations routinely provided military escort. Now the US Navy does that globally, for all traffic. Ignoring facts is generally called trivialization.

Seizing Russian assets will not undermine the sense of investor security. If they are seized, it would not send the signal that investments are not secure, just investments made to support a country that conducts such egregious violations of international order and peace. Investors are not stupid; they understand this.

@dimushka383 They will know that if they engage in illegal operations like Russia, then yes, they will know that their funds will be seized. Are you saying that those non-European countries are intrinsically corrupt? Smart investors will not invest in countries that will do that. And they shouldn't.
