  3. Point off intrerst, and not Conspiracy theory. There were some odd radio communications picked up before Gagarin orbited, which suggest he may have been the First Man to Survive a Space Launch, Orbit and return. The monitoring of Russian communications started during WW2, but most of this time is still classified.
