In UK the mantra is taught -In dry conditions leave a minimum two second gap bettween vehicles, in wet conditions leave a four second gap. It is taught by the ryhme 'Only a fool breacks the two second rule' and add on in wet 'A bigger fool breacks the four second rule. ' Spocken at normally speed it's actually quite accurate.
