  1. Lauren's wanted to arm slaves in 1782. In 1781 the Battle of Jersey (See HTG's episode) Pierson was avenged by his black servant Pompey. In 1783 an American artist John Singelto Copley painted a large picture The Death of Pierson , placing Pompey shooting in a prominent place. And you thought current political and moral views were complex?

  2.  @stevenwalter3311  Thanks, I'd never heard of them.A lot Black sailors served in the Royal Navy , ghastly thought but fighting together leads to strong friendships regardless of colour.
