  1. The old destroyers , which became known as Four Stackers were used for Coastal Escorts, though they did have their moments.. Two were Escorts for Oeperation Tiger in April 1944 at Slapton Sands. Another the former USS Buchanan, wa srenamed HMS Cambeltown.
