I'd say MRE cakes, in a large tin, feed ten, are about the only thing that is edible, and dosen't come with a minature bottle of Tobasco Sauce.

Bulldust the Public with Survial Advice to keep them fat, dumb and happy. Why is that sounding familiar all of a sudden?

Though lead from the solder on tins is considered may have been a cause of the demise of the Franklin Expedition.

Britsh Army Hard Tack is Biscuits Brown AB (All Bran) . There use in survial is as follows. Place two packets in a green army sock. Then use said club to beat anything to death rather than eat the &** biscuits. The altenative is Biscuits Fruit AB, they are Super sized Garibaldi biscuits and the Food of the Gods. Another deep joy was Cheese Processed, AKA Cheese Pocessed. Legend has it that it is considered inhumane and unusual torment to feed it to prisoners.

Huntley and Palmer still make Capt. Scotts Expedition Biscuits. Qouted as High Energy Low Cholesterol. As I'm looking at a packet now, marked best before 06, To quote the back of the packet. In 1911/12 Huntley & Palmers baked the biscuits that the Britsh Team used on polar challenges. The original formula used Lard, the modern version substitues vegtable oil. And the taste taste says! Beyond there best.

A lot of surplus American MRE (AKA politley as Meals Rejected by Everyone) came on the European market a few years back. The large tins of cakes were very good though. Everyone had a small bottle of Tobasco Sauce, if all else failed.
