Many years ago I was working at a small amusment park when a guest lost a finger. They had sat on top of a screen gaurding a fan on a hovercraft attraction. Then having bounced on it, pushed there finger through the gaurd. They just managed to touch the revolving fan . when asked why, the answer was 'I wanted to see if it was really moving! The Mother of this moron then berated him for how much money he would loose when he got home becuse he;d be off work Some people shouldn't be alowed to breed.

My parents were both from mining families in the area. I lost two cousins at Aberfan. Every time a coal fire spat, one of my parents would say 'A miner has died'.

In UK it is a Two second rule, in GOOD visibilty and DRY road surface. For anything else FOUR Seconds is recommended. The rhyme/nemonic is Only a fool breaks the two second rule, and a bigger fool breaks the four second rule

The greatest legacy of Aberfan, is the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. specifically Section 37 If a company commits a Health & Safety offence, then its directors or senior managers can be prosecuted for breaching Section 37, if the offense was due to their consent, connivance or ATTRIBUTABLE TO THEIR NEGLECT.
