  1. Part of the US plans during ww2 were to seperate the Britsh Empire, especially India from the Crown. Also the cost of every pice supply to the UK was paid for, finally finishing in the 1980's if I remember. US forces paid nothing for British goods. The US Bell X1 was a copy of plans supplied by UK of a Blackburn design. The first Electronic computer was not IBM Univac it was the Collosus design built by GPO enginner Tom Flowers. Repatriations of technical knowledge from UK to USA destroyed Britsh industry post war.
