I stone = 14 pounds. = 6.35 kg. Still used colloquilly to describe a person weight. So 7 stone is 98lbs (Pounds weight) or about 44.5 kgs.

If someone doesn't know they ask, so what? Better be thought a fool for asking than proved to be one for not. There is also the colloquial use of language which may not be obvious.

N Hosto: Bully for you. American use of tons is diffrent from British Imperail tons, same with liquid measurments, can cause many problems, so don't sneer if someone asks a sensible question.
