  2. Legend has it that Bees were used against war Elephants . A swarm would be trapped in a basket or sack and thrown at the Elephant. Modern research appears to back this up as the positioning of bee hives along feild boundaries is an effectie detterent for wild elephants.

  3. Been flying as a passenger since about 1960. A lot was 'Unaccompanied Minor', in those far off days, I was chucked on the jump seat to be out of the cabin crews way. Knew my way around a DC3 cockpit before I knew the controls of car. Was ALWAYS seat belt on! Have done every time I fly.

  4. Having worked security at Gatwick in the past. Nothing new. Passengers at search making 'Jokes' . Then being bewlidered at the total sense of humour of failuer, a hard time with the Police, and often being shown off the airport and told Don't Come back, Anytime.

  7. I stone = 14 pounds. = 6.35 kg. Still used colloquilly to describe a person weight. So 7 stone is 98lbs (Pounds weight) or about 44.5 kgs.

  8. How do you get new Pilots? You train them. How do you train them? With trainers. What is industry in general short of? People expirenced and capable of training others. All industries involved with transport in any form are having the same problem. Treat people like monkies, don't be suprised if they throw...peanuts..at you.

  10. First Officer did his job as well. If in doubt ask, and clarify, not only do both sides sing from the sheet, the captain may have got distracted , disorintated and needed a reminder. No disrespct, no malice.
