@alexv3357 lamer?
The thinking logic of Chinese people is completely different from that of the United States, like China only got one overseas military base because China doesn't want to waste money, not because China can't but China doesn't want, or why even India UK Italy got more overseas military bases than China? China only keeps North Korea as official military ally not even Pakistan, China even refused Russia because China doesn't want to have more, China also only keep 1/10 nukes as USA and Russia has because it's enough to nuke once the world so why keeps so many?
China is like Soviet-style polity and military+Japan-style exporting economy combination, USA relied more on external resources and markets than Soviet during Cold War, On the contrary, the planned economy of the Soviet Union ensured that the Soviet Union was more self-sufficient, so why the Soviet Union's economy never surpassed USA?
Soviet's peak GDP is only 40% (60% PPP)of USA in 1970s but China is like 60%(130% PPP) of USA, more importantly China got more industrial output than G7 combined, China is projected to produce over 77,000 STEM PhD graduates per year by 2025, compared to around 40,000 in the US, which means China would produce more if China invest more in education in future, You just have to imagine that if China catches up with Japan in per capita investment in education, then China's talent pool will be 10 times bigger than Japan or Russia.
even China was poorer than Africa before 1980s but USA failed to contain China in Korean War and Vietnam War, lamer?
