CCP hit UN forces 1950-53
armed Vietcong 1950-75
hit ROC 1958-79 (US-ROC MDT 1954-79)
hit India 1962 1967
hit own ally Soviet 1969
hit South Vietnam 1974 (SEATO 1954-77)
hit Vietnam 1979-91 (USSR-Vietcong Treaty 1978-91)
armed Mujahideen 1979-89
The CCP directly attacked the U.S. Army, the Indian Army, the Soviet Army, the South Vietnamese Navy, and the Viet Cong Army and Navy in last Cold War.
What can be discovered from the wars in which the CCP participated?
All of them occurred around the Chinese border, or were border disputes caused by colonial history.
Either it was the CCP’s retaliation against the anti-communist bamboo curtain from the United States and the anti-China encirclement from the Soviet Union.
So this is the CCP’s mini-Monroe Doctrine, which is the bottom line thinking of the CCP. The CCP does not allow hostile neighbors to appear around it, whether you are pro-American and anti-communist South Korea and South Vietnam, or pro-Soviet and anti-China Vietnam and Afghanistan.
Lithuania and Australia are very anti-China, but it is impossible for the CCP to attack an enemy in another hemisphere. This is not something the CCP is willing to do, and this is something only Americans can do. So is this self-projection?
Today, CCP has the most warships in the world and the second largest naval tonnage in the world. However, CCP has fewer overseas military bases than the United Kingdom, France, Russia, and India. There is only one in Djibouti, so you think it is because CCP is incapable, not because CCP is restrained on ilitary expansion?
The world seems to despise pacifists.
