I think you are half right, China is pretty peaceful that's why China avoid big wars in last 40 years, This huge county looks even more peaceful than Turkey Saudi, but ironically somebody would think China maintains peace attitude because China is coward can't fight, because they forgot what China role was in Korean War, Vietnam War, Sino-Indian Conflicts, Sino-Soviet Conflicts, Third Indochina War and Soviet-Afghan War. China won't attack anyone but nobody should treat China as enemy.

  2.  @gulamog5041  because Taiwan colonist invaded, bombed and stole China, today Taiwan is still blocking China rise, basically Taiwan is Chinese Cuba.
