I'm Chinese I've been to most Japanese major cities, I found out even Tokyo Metro is smaller than Shanghai Metro, but Greater Tokyo railway system(Tokyo Metro+Toei Subway+JR EAST+Priave Railways) is bigger and dense than Shanghai railway system, the only problem is I'm foreigner so I feel pressure and confused to buy cheap ticket even take wrong train, Tokyo railway system too complex like circuit diagram run by 11 different company, well, Tokyo railway system is also clean, neat, super busy and orgainzied, maybe it's kinda old-fashioned because Chinese new station is more creative, high-tech and fancier,
