  4.  @meganisawesome9394  Try getting the maximum of your information from scientific sources: media articles are biased, politicians are biased, companies are biased... Science is not. Scientists may be.... but Science is there as a system to root them out. So if you need to see two sides of a story, see which one has the most to back it up, and who those source papers were written by (past history, qualifications, peer reviewed, retracted or not, declarations of conflict of interests etc). Sometimes, for example, you'll see an article by "Doctor Smith" on quantum physics in alternative medicine.... and then you'll see he's a "doctor" chiropractor... You'll only see his article in public media, not in a medical journal.

  7. There's a difference between a simple theory, that you then gather evidence to support or negate, and conspiracy theory, where evidence is allegedly kept back and people conspire to hide the truth.

  12. I don't know if your story is true or not, but whatever; I imagine that's ho the flat erath theory started, like the crop circles, like the Raelians. Your story particularly made me think of the Raelians: there are currently around 30,000 desciples of a religion invented as a joke for a radio programme by a group of friends. They all stopped except one, who got carried away with it all. .
