  1. Syn oil is 10K changes, i have never had an oil related issue in around 1.5 million miles of driving. Ya change oil as per mfgs specs, currently most are 10K on good syn. Motul, Liqui Moly, castrol....

  2. AND, some modern synthetic oils can go 15K between changes, it's 2024 now not 1964

  3. Come back sooner for a oil checkup, like my dentist, years ago, when I had gum issues, don't wait for the 6month routine, come back in 3...sometimes it does work out better. But again, with modern syn oils, they do get dark early, not meaning i'ts an issue, just cus of what's in the oil additives.

  6. If this was a VW Audi door panel, wanna bet they would have a "special" tool, for a large price. I had to get some, for some procedures on the cars over the decades but they do make things go fast.

  7. Oil will turn black in modern oils and engines, it doesn't mean the oil is spent. Obviously this is not using Syn, and or using one of those terrible oil change places.

  8. Friend just got a new 2024 Hyundai Tucson? Hyundai has come a long way. they make some nice stuff now. It replaces a Jaguar, which was an $80,000 piece of art. Hyundai hired an Audi dude, and it shows, they look and do things much better. I remember the 1980's hyundai Excel, it was scary! They have become #3 in the world after VW and TOYota...they be doing something right

It has a modern keyless entry...it's the upper model. yeah, Huyndai Kia really blew it by not using the safer setup like most cars have now....now they have to redo stuff, so it costs them more...Why do car companies always try to cut and save, and it always backfires. Gives customer really negative outlook on the brands, and costs the makers more, to do it right the 2nd time. some insurance companies refuse to cover them, that's really a bad non endorsement for the brand

  10.  @gncc600  Certainly have, they had lots of problems with engine failures, not good, it's not good. But hopefully they pay attention, and stop making the junkers. There is no excuse why they didn't have modern key less, immobilizer systems like the majority of cars. Well the accountant design cars, and this happens.

  13. VW has strict oil specs, not just weight. and coolants are now pink, purple, etc. If you mix wrong stuff in VW the coolants turn dark, and create issues. Modern coolants have different additives for corrosion etc. G11 G12 G13 not to be mixed. Pentosin makes lots of the stuff ++ and now "E" put in VW Audi jugs with VW part numbers. Never seen any VW say some universal coolants can be used and mixed. They frown on z wrong coolants and oils

  14.  @coolantkid3428  There are specs, i didn't say the label had to say Audi VW etc, or GM, or Ford. But the different coolants available today are very different, there is no universal coolant type that will work in all the different engine materials. There used to be just green, that was long ago, that's gone, then blue, that is basically gone...now there is oink, Violet, Pentosin which makes a lot of the stuff, ++ now e, both being violet, but a different mix again. Engines use lots of different materials, metals, and different plastics. Just like all oils are not interchangeable, neither are coolants. If one universal coolant was fine, don't you think all makers would use it, it would save them money ...They are not interchangeable, well, they are if you want issues, premature corrosion, and failures of pumps, of which most now have 2 or more, I know mine does. Under VW specs there is G11,G12,G13 all violet or purple, yet not the same blend. Instructions specially say, do not mix..some are glycol, some are glycerine, and other mixes

  15. Shouldn't you replace the crush washer on the drain plug, and or replace entire plug. VW dealer always replaces entire plug, even on my life time free oil changes, on one of our vehicles. they stopped cus it was costing them over $20K a month!!! and wasn't bringing in additional revenue.

  16. Amsoil doesn't have particular mfgs specs, why not? Vague, and seems like a real scientoloty brand. why no mfgs specs? Like Motul, Liqui Moly have brands listed to that maker specs Porsche, VW Audi VW 504 505 507 etc etc. same with Porsche Audi numbers. amsoil i have never seen...not prudent

  17.  @gncc600  If it doesn't have the labels and certs, they can claim it also defy age...no certs, not true. Why do most of the other oil makers have the certs, labels on their products? Just like UL or ETL certs on products, if it ain't got the cert, it's not, made to the same specs, tell that to the court when insurance claims are put in. Like in real estate, if it ain't in writing it never happened
