  6. Rosin core solder I hope, not plumbers acid core, plus you should FLUX it with some rosin flux on something old and oxidized..FLUX it

  7. Actually by putting the ring lug on the cables and then bolting it to the battery clamp, now introduces yet another 2 connections, rather than just putting the wires under the batter clamp.....a conundrum...less connection points are more reliable
