  1. I took dash off on a 98 vw passat...slick..the replace heater core popped a leak after to 24 years,got it in dash and all...slick how stuff fits wiring harnesses just right snap in place. Everything worked when back together..learning experience

  2.  @K.Kelly87  Our 98' Vw Passat, had faield blend door foam after 14 years, I changed out teh heater core under teh dash, I pulled dash out, myself, learned a lot, amazing how stuff just goes in place, wiring etc. after I replaced the leaking heater core, not hot? Hmmm, sho nuff after I brought it to my local deaelr, of whom I've bought 17+ VW stuff from them over teh eyars, they said, it's the foam, , and they didn't charge me for diagnosis...So I had to pull dash apart, got to doors sho' nuff, so as the dealer suggested put a piece of cardboard cut to side, taped with duct tape...put it all back together HEAT and cool, it fixed it, held up for years after...I found a new blend door asembly on Ebay but never preplaced it, as my fix kept on working, till we sold the car had it for like 16+ years, great car..

  3.  @stevewhiting556  yes, VW had, or still uses a wax, i think my newer ones use something different. In real hot weather, you would see a streak, of the wax coming out the drain holes in the door...but it's also why VW had a 12 year corrosion warranty, it worked.
