1975 EEC Referendum Expenditure
IN Campaign: £1.5m — or £11m in today’s money
Out Campaign: £133,629, equivalent to £1m today.
2016 EU Referendum Expenditure
Remain Campaign: £28,359,066 (Including £9.5million for pro Remain leaflets)
Leave Campaign: £13,436,241
The Remain Campaign had:
Foreign money from Geoger Soros, Goldman Sachs, J P Morgan and others...
The majority of grassroot campaigns supporting them...
The majority of the Conservative, Labour, Green, Lib Dem, SNP and other parties supporting them...
The majority of regional, national and international media supporting them...
The majority of celebrities supporting them...
The majority of councillors supporting them...
The EU establishment supporting them...
Foreign Heads of State such as Obama, Merkel, Hollande supporting them...
The majority of large corporations and banks supporting them...
They had an additional (estimate) £500,000 Government website advertising done for them...
They capitalised on the death of Jo Cox, insunating that Remainers are the 'moral ones'...
They lied...
Institutionally the ball was in Remains court. They lost the referendum because the majority of voters saw through the lies and wanted sovereignty for their country. Many Leavers had voted to join the EEC in the '70's and felt as though they had been lied to.
