  10.  @richjones5432  In my line of work I had to run projects that could last years and attend periodical conferences. A typical week would be answered letters, sent memos, held meetings. Occasionally it would be major project milestone, proposal for standard approved, but certainly not every week. It was decided that senior staff had to write up the year annually, it stopped a lot of time wasted on space filler.

  12.  @BronzeDragon133  I would say, as a (retired) non-medical data science that the problems are likely to be much more with sampling methodology and question phrasing. These are the usual problems with political polls. You can't really do a double blind trial. It is also very difficult to measure probability of actually voting. In an election like this one, with one candidate manifestly unfit, people will actually be voting on a number of factors really related to whether the government is likely to be Republican or Democrat. So in independent voters you have the simply lazy who may well not vote, the ones waiting to see which side will offer benefits to them (foolishly believing it's going to happen like that) and the ones who don't know why a random person phoned them (or whatever) and just want them off the line. If the polling is by the same company that owns the British YouGov, the methodology is probably about as reliable as trying to forecast tomorrow's WSJ headline by a chemical analysis of Rupert Murdoch's farts.

They elected an actual gangster as President and the results will be as expected. I do think part of the reason is the way the US media glorifies drug dealers and gangsters, normalising them in people's minds.

  40. Trump is trying to boost Musk because Musk let him back on X/witter. Trump is entirely motivated by hatred and greed, so his boosting of someone else implies trying to put someone else down. In this case Zuckerberg, who is by a visible margin less evil than Musk. Trump is not irrational except in the sense that he knows what he wants to achieve but his portfolio of ways to achieve it is very, very small.

  44. Trump's advisers seem to have tried to coach him in certain complete sentences and talking points but he gets confused, gets them out of order, mixes up ideas. Without a teleprompter he's nothing. Basdically if Trump is elected again, whoever operates the teleprompter will be the real President.
