I am white middle class. I've heard so many horror stories about the Met, including from police officers in Hertfordshire and Somerset, that I really wouldn't want to live in their area. It used to be that the big gangs would ensure some of the families stayed out of trouble so their sons could join the Met, and they didn't do it out of a desire to make the streets safer. The Stephen Lawrence case is a good example. The problem for the police is that the many good and honourable officers have to stay quiet because the dishonest ones know how to fit them up if they rock the boat.

@curiositycloset2359 Because there was a cover up due to the perpetrators being protected by the police, that's why. This is about policing, not individual offences. (Incidentally what's your view on the white people convicted last week of massive child abuse? Doesn't suit your narrative?)
