  1. Remind me which government was in power when Widdecombe was an MP? Which government walked away from our international treaties (read Boris Johnson's housemaster's letter about him - it says it all)? Which government preferred to spend £700 million on Rwanda rather than have effective border controls? It is too late to have an enquiry - what we need is a properly funded effective Home Office and the operations it controls, after fourteen years of neglect. As for the national identity of villains, read up the case of the man who killed his wife for the insurance, how the criminal trial folded, and how it took a civil suit to get some sort of justice. Read what the judge said about the man involved. Psychopaths are not confined to non-Europeans.

  3.  @stewie7338  Relevance? Labour-supporting academics were largely opposed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. Nobody supposes the Labour leadership consists of intellectuals. Do you know what the term means?
