  1. Forget Der Spiegel, it's reported that at least two banks are trying to divest $11 billion worth of Twitter debt that Musk took on. They are talking it up to the rubes because that's what they do to make the sale, but it is clear they doubt Musk's ability to service the interest on the debt.

  2. The US at the moment reminds me of Kipling's poem at the time of the Russian collapse in 1917-18, when pacifists in England were saying it was time to negotiate peace with Germany. Musk may seem an unlikely Lenin but he has many of the personality traits.
