That’s what happens naturally in Australia’s channel country and these rains actually fell on the western side of the great dividing range, so it fill rivers flowing inland like the darling and the manindi lakes, this only happens once every 3-5 years though. The Queensland government working on a project called the ‘Hells gate dam’, which is a modern version of the Bradfield scheme. Building large dams in the wet tropical north areas of Australia, pumping it over he great dividing range, west into inland Australia. This has the potential to green he entire western states all the way inland to Birdsville and the NSW/SA border (currently arid). This will transform the country once built.
