@bobchung2451 "The poor vendor, who were making a honest, decent living were subjected thuggish action." That guy was blocking traffic, was asked 6 times to leave, but refused. Didnt you read? Also, selling on the streets like this without a license is illegal in many places around the world. You would get fined. Especially in Western countries. If this man got fined, it wouldve dealt a bigger (financial) blow to him than just a few sugar canes. "They must have been hired by some government agency. "They were empowered by that agency. That made them the authorities." Those that hire them do not in any way "empower" them. You made that up yourself. Theyre contractors. Just like security guards or bouncers, they have certain authorities to do things within their jurisdiction if people dont comply with their policies. Employers got NOTHING to do with how they handle things.

@bobchung2451 "I beg to differ - they were hired by the employer. The employer has to answer for the uncivilised action" They can only say "sorry, we will investigate this matter". They hold ZERO legal liabilities to another companies actions. Thats the same case everywhere in the world. Regardless whether you agree with this or not, this is the case worldwide.

@bobchung2451 No, it applies in almost all countries around the world that follows the rule of law. If youre employed by that financial institution, and you acted on behalf of that company, then that company is at fault. If you acted alone NOT on behalf of that company, then its YOUR fault. Moreover, compare apples with apples. In your example it was just ONE company. The actual situation here is TWO different companies/bodies. There are different legal implications when theres 2 different companies. They have different responsibilities after all.
