@WessyD123 Not even the US agrees that TW is its "own country". Who are you to say it is?

@WessyD123 TW was never part of Japan? Try 1895 - 1945.

@HL-kt3ib "Different"? How "different"? Ive actually lived there. Its as different how every other province of China is "different".
1
@HL-kt3ib Thats nothing on a grand scale of things. Right to vote is only like 1% of a persons life. There so many aspect of life thats almost exactly the same as mainland China. In fact, I would say there are even bigger differences between provinces in mainland China, like Inner Mongolia to Sichuan, or Yunnan to Guangdong, than TW is to say Fujian.

@HL-kt3ib Lol. 2 "countries". In both TW and mainland China, they teach about the Chinese Civil War. Civil war meaning war within the SAME country. Read up on the 1992 consensus. Both ROC and PRC agreed that there is only ONE China, and TW is part of that "One China". So there is no "two countries". Only one, thats in an unfinished civil war. Tell me, what "freedom" is again? Name me one country with absolute freedom of speech. Just one. Because there is none. Not even in the US! You speak about censorship. Censorship is everywhere! YT, FB, X, you name it! Yeh you probably will get arrested for disrespecting the president. Just like you would if you disrespect the king in some countries. Every country has their way of censoring and enforcing things you cannot say. Just play by the rules and youll be fine. Simple as that.

@WessyD123 No. TW was officially signed off to TW after losing the war. And people of TW became Japanese citizens during the time of their rule.
1
@Scrungge How does it not? In a civil war, there at least 2 conflicting powers. In this case, its 2 governments claiming to be China.
1
@forcexjr1566 A government cannot "represent" another government. Just like a country cannot "represent" another country. PRC is seen as the successor of ROC. So they have indeed "replaced" them in the UN. This is supported by the fact that world powers and the UN recognises TW to be part of China.
