@EyFmS Constitutions can change. But till this day, Taiwan has not gathered enough support within their government to make that change. And since it hasnt changed, the fact that Republic of China claims to be a country called China remains.

Since when did countrys cater to the opinion of minorities when it comes to sovereignty? If a country wants to cede sovereignty away, then they must have the MAJORITY of the country of China to agree. Not just a mere province (Taiwan). Just like Catalonia and Quebec etc cant be independent from their country just because they "want to". What more do you have to say? Ill play with you till the end😏

Leon Campa You dont understand? They effectively won the civil war as successor to "China". And Chinas land includes the island of Taiwan. The people of Taiwan can live how they want, with whatever system they want, just not on Chinese soil. Do it else where. Or you confused on what civil war is?

They had every intent to take back the mainland. Moreover, they didnt "establish" a working democracy. ROC was FOUNDED as a democracy. Taiwan didnt "establish" anything. "So what now? You want China to invade and enslave the people? They deserve to live free from communism if they so choose" Who said anything about enslaving? Thats all in your head. Do people of HK or Macau look "enslaved" to you? HK had so much freedom that they even had the freedom to destroy their city. And you call that "enslave"? You honestly dont know what youre talking about here. And whats communism about China other than the name of the party again? Theyre arguably the most capitalist country in the world.
