@yu-jd5jg Was I wrong? was ROC not the original China in modern China? Was it not PRC that took over ROC territory? ROC is the LEGAL ruler of China. After Qings collapse, there was a formal transfer of sovereign/power from Qing to ROC written in black and white on paper. PRC does not have such a thing. Legal documents are a necessity when it comes to law.

There was NO peace treaty signed. And there was NO transfer of sovereignty from ROC to PRC. If you think there is, where is the document?

Civil war has not ended yet because, one, no peace treaty has been signed, and two, because they still exists. This period is technically a prolonged ceasefire of this civil war - its still ongoing. Why do you think theres still tension between ROC and PRC?

@Khepri I have no problems with Mainland China belonging to one country, but call ROC as "separatists" is wrong. Also, the PRC is atheist, they dont believe in no "Mandate of Heaven". The people then had no choice. And people raised in PRC will obviously support their own government.

The CCP was the enemy of the Chinese national army then so of course they had to be in "retreat". What are you even talking about? Whats this got to do with anything I said? And as mentioned earlier, ROC lost because of fighting head on with Japan and thus its forces were weakened, whereas CCP forces did not, so they continued to grow. Coupled with support from USSR of course they would win.

@Khepri "your dictionary is out of order if you think mandate is only for heaven" Mandate is from the authorities. That is, either from the government, or by Chinese tradition, from Heaven. And like I said, if civil war is "lost" then show me the peace treaty. Show me the documents.

"Mandate of Heaven" is the term specifically used throughout Chinas history - which basically means "Authority from Heaven". There was no term called "Mandate of the People" in Chinese history. ROC had a complete legal transfer of from Qing after a formal surrender. What did PRC have? They didnt completely destroy ROC, nor did they have any formal transfer of power in any document or any form. Its not "done and settled". If PRC had completely destroyed ROC or had them formally surrender via a legal document, you think I would be saying these things? "Right now, the PRC is the legal and official government of China" Let me invade your home (without any transfer of ownership in legal documents). Clearly they were not "overthrown" thats why they continued to attack them. "Have no Real power to defend themselves, that's why they collude with foreign forces" Theres a reason why PRC couldnt completely invade ROC back then, its because ROC took the whole nations navy over to Taiwan, leaving PRC with none. Now with time, PRC has over overtaken them due to the nature of having more resources. Why not "overthrow" them now? And you think PRC didnt "collude" with foreign forces to come into power? "They lost support of the people, that's why they lost the war" They lost mainland China, not the war, technically speaking anyways (no peace treaty was ever signed), because their forces were weak after fighting head on with the Japanese, whereas CCP maintained their forces during this period while only engaging in guerrilla warfare against the Japanese, AND had support from USSR.
