@chrisjackson1215 What did they "admit"? That its a "spy balloon"? They admitted its a meteorological balloon, used to survey the weather, that went off course due to strong winds. Not admit its a "spy balloon". Imagine if you wanted to spy on a country, whats inconspicuous that could send to spy on them? Oh I know! @chrisjackson1215 Openly spying? If theyre openly spying then why also openly deny it? Its obviously all covert spying until caught. They flew with actual planes with actual spy apparatuses. You shot the balloon down, now where are their "spy" equipments? All words means nothing when you dont have the evidence especially when its all in your territory. Its literally a meteorological balloon. Did you also realise that the US and Russia were also open enemies at that time? Where there was virtually zero cooperations between the 2 countries? With literally nothing to lose if one of caught spying? Whereas China and the US are so intertwined and cooperating on a scale never seen before in human history? Whereby one wrong move could throw the worlds economy backwards and into chaos? Times have changed. Its YOU that needs to educate yourself before opening your mouth.

Michael Ross They didnt say "it got lost". They said they lost control over it due to high winds, and the balloon had limited manoeuvrability . And this isnt a or city/state-wide weather balloon, those are small. This one was obviously intended for a much larger reach, based on its size. But that doesnt mean its not for meteorological purposes.
