James Cooper Bakeries dont ask for who the cake is for when the buyer buys a cake. Apple doesnt ask who the macbook is for when I buy a macbook. Why would (insert business) ask their buyer who the product theyre buying is for? Its not for them normal to ask unless youre asking for advise. Moreover, the data shown in video are roads and a kitchen. Their end client is most a truck company and a restaurant. Why do you have to assume everything is for the Chinese government? If anything it seems like youre brainwashed to automatically think so.

El-ahrairah They didnt have to ask. The customer revealed that by asking the bakery to place 2 men on the cake.

El-ahrairah The point is that businesses dont ask clients on who the product they sell is for. They just sell it. Unless its something obviously against the owners core values.

El-ahrairah Youre adding more variables to this equation. Obviously if theyre going to conduct market research or whatnot then theyll ask certain questions. But generally speaking, when one goes into an apple store and purchases a product, representative are not going to ask "who is this product for"...If apple did this to every customer (or majority) that they sell to, what do you think will happen? And just bring it back since you are going wayyyy of topic, the guy said "we don't usually ask what the data is used for or who our clients are". And I said "Its not for them normal to ask". I never said "companies never do", and they guy also didnt say "we never ask what the data is for...".

El-ahrairah "Yes, i am adding variables because they are required if we want to dive into this idea any deeper than a basic, single sentence, statement" This basic, single sentence statement, contains the keyword "normal(ly)", aka generally, aka majority of the time. And the majority of the time, sellers dont ask buyers who the product theyre buying is for. Generally speaking - if that wasnt clear enough.

El-ahrairah "And? So its a 51/49 thing here? We can go with "majority" so you can ignore how common it actually is and has been?" And? And so my statement stands true. Normally businesses dont ask who the buyer is buying it for. I myself have not been even once encountered a situation when Im at the counter buying something that the seller ask "who are you buying this for?". So what 51/49? Thats a 100% no for me. So how is this "common" again? And mind you, not every country operates in the same way yours does. Ive also been to China, and they certainly dont ask who Im buying item X for.

El-ahrairah "So you're making a semantic argument begging people not to look at deeper at it? Okay cool" When someone says "generally speaking", one does not need to look deeper into it. Because its only "generally speaking"...Not sure why you would even look into something so "general". Youre the one that wants to get into a semantic argument here... "don't complain when they do and don't complain when they call you out for intentionally ignoring how common the opposing facts are" I obviously dont live in the same country as you do if you believe its "common". This video is on China, and I can tell you, in China, businesses dont ask who youre buying item X is for when making a purchase.
