@dasbubba841 Its not just about price. The West currently lacks the technology to produce rare earths as EFFICIENTLY as China, all simply due to not touching that sector for many years. Not only that, its also because producing rare earths are EXTREMELY damaging to the environment. China has laxxed environmental laws thats partly why they can do what they do, but the West? How many more years of negotiation and lobbying to pass their environmental standards before production can go underway at economies of scale?
