Covert Puppy Two I dont think you get the point. Its not about a cross-sectional increase or decrease. Why do you think those in say the US are allowed to emit more CO2 PER PERSON than the rest of the world? China single-handedly produces about a quarter of the worlds pollution is because they simply have more people. If the US had the EXACT same number of people as China, they would be emitting TWICE as much as China today. So why is it that US citizens are allowed the pollute more? What privileged do they have that allows them to emit more per CO2 per person? Also, there is more pollution in China simply because most developed countries OUTSOURCED their pollution, aka manufacturing, to China...If only they took manufacturing back then pollution will also go back to their respective countries.

Covert Puppy Two Chinas CO2 emissions per capita is much lower than that of the US...So even if Chinas CO2 emissions keep rising, it still wont catch up to the US any time soon.

Covert Puppy Two " STOP... the US has NEVER reach the amount of pollution that China is spewing today... NEVER!!!" Cumulatively speaking, Yes. The US is by far the biggest polluter on this planet if you add up everything from the 1850s to now. The US had a whole century of polluting before China entered the scene.

Covert Puppy Two " No one in the US says the US are allowed to emit more CO2 per-person than the rest of the world... NO ONE. Where do you get such nonsense?" You literally implied that when you said "China single handedly provides 18% of the world pollution... more than twice that of the US". Everything is China China China, when their emissions per capita is so low. The fact that you were defending the US saying that they "decreased its CO2 emissions EVERY YEAR" instead of condemning them like you were condemning China further supports that implication. Emissions should be based on a per capita basis, as every person on this planet deserves to use X amount of energy. "India has nearly the same population but far less pollution than China!" Theyre also less developed. Have you not realised that less developed countries use less energy than the rest of the world? And btw, India has 15 of the top 20 polluting cities. Far worse than China. "And lets not forget, per-capita... China burns FAR MORE COAL than anyone else!!!" This conversation is about emissions. Not coal. Dont even pretend other forms of energy like gas dont emit pollution. US uses more of other polluting fossil fuels like gas than coal. But nevertheless, China emits LESS CO2 on a per capita basis than the US. "What gives China the privilege of rising CO2 emissions EACH YEAR while nations like the US reduces its emissions EACH YEAR???" You must not be very bright at maths/logic. Doesnt matter how much they increase if they dont exceed the US on a per capita basis. Something you dont seem to understand. China has the "privilege" of increasing their CO2 emissions simply because their CO2 emissions per capita is LOW. Meaning the average Chinese uses LESS energy, and thus LESS emissions, than the US. Denying that further implies youre allowing countries like the US to continue their high CO2 emissions per person habits.

Covert Puppy Two "China increases it but then have propagandist like you who spin the facts!!!" What a joke. Someone that doesnt understand facts/logic very well and says Im spreading propaganda...Ill say it again. It doesnt matter how much China "increases" its emissions, the average Chinese still uses much lower than the US. Since you dont understand, let me give you an example. If my country has CO2 emissions of 1 ton per capita, even if my country INCREASES emissions by 5% every year, in 50 years its STILL wont reach the level of which the US emissions per capita (16t) is at, even if they DECREASE. Understand? The best and most absolute way of seeing how much a countrys citizen is contributing to global emissions is by a per capita basis. Of all the major countries out there, US/CA/AUS citizens are by far the worst offenders in CO2 emissions

@davidlazarus67 They believe in climate change, just not that humans are the main cause of it

@davidlazarus67 Their logic is that ice age and global warming is the natural cycle off earths climate change. They acknowledge it exists but not caused by humans.

@davidlazarus67 I was interested in this topic long ago. I did have a read about it. The rise in temperature in recent decades does not differ much from previous global warming spikes. Every time our planet had global warming the temperature spikes up real quick
