@singingirand7925 "I just find it stupid that he got 15 years the first time and getting life now. I'm calling BS on this because if they wanted to sentence him to life, he would've been the first time, not now" He and his lawyer appealed. Moreover, even if it was politically motivated, 15 years is with his "white privilege", with tensions between China and Canada now, his white privilege is now gone. Back to the usual death sentence for any person committed of drug trafficking in China. "On another note, drugs shouldn't be criminalized. The criminalization is what causes all these issues in the first place. Decriminalize it, get it off the black market and have the government sell it so they get the revenue instead... and the money won't end up back into crime" No one is talking about the drug users here. We are talking about SUPPLYING drugs. "The criminalization is what causes all these issues in the first place"? The fact that there IS drugs is what caused these issues in the first place. Remove the drugs, and the issues will eventually be removed.

@singingirand7925 Low level mules dont have access to 220kg (~450lb) of meth...thats $50-$150 million dollars worth of meth in street value. "You cannot remove the drugs without removing the drug lord" Yes you can. Remove all materials needed to create drugs is one option. Another option is to remove everyone in the supply chain. Also, drugs lords dont just "sit there and collect money", they supply the funds to have the drugs created. Theres risks involved. His "assets" could be seized. "Do you think decriminalizing drugs will change the way people think about drugs? Those who know it's dangerous will keep off it, and those who think drugs are ok, or are addicted, will continue to use it, just like they are NOW as in CURRENTLY" Have you ever thought about those that are curious? Decriminalising it and having the government sell it will spike demand for new comers. Its basically screaming "its OK to do drugs". You cant end the cycle if youre pretty much ALLOWING more people to join that cycle with virtually zero barrier of entry. Moreover, China was devastated by 2 opium wars, whereby their citizens just became worthless piece of trash thats constantly high. You honestly think that decriminalising drugs is an option for China?
