Taiwan was incorporated in ROC. "Taiwan" never had sovereignty. Till this day, Taiwan is still part of ROC, a Chinese government that claims to be the country called China.

To the Asian "allies", the US only has bilateral defensive approach, not the multilateral approach bringing NATO and such over. Only the US claims they will defend Taiwan because they want to have military bases there to contain China. And maybe Japan if the US pushes them to join, not because of some "defensive pact". Moreover, even if NATO does join in for whatever reason. How many men is NATO willing to send? I bet that number would be minuscule. And they most likely be sending them by sea. You honestly think China dont have plans to deter that?
