" there is no protesters on Modi’s visit to the US 🤔 that’s unusual. Makes you wonder if it had something to do with the freezing of usaid"

"This man never did anything for the salaried class when he was the FM. Why bother to seek his views on budget?"

The privilege Shri Rahul ji is enjoying is called having one’s cake and eating it too.

Someone has coined the term Level 5 leaders to describe such people. I think Mr. Sisodia is the textbook example of a Level 5 leader.

Some of the questions were variously grating, unnecessary in a moment of celebration, trivial, and inappropriate to ask Dr. Swaminathan's daughter. Seemed like the interviewer was trying to stretch the conversation out for lack of genuine curiosity and warmth. Better preparation please! Appreciate Dr. Soumya Swaminathan's grace and poise in answering.

All the learned members of this panel and the distinguished anchor, many of whom I am sure look up to America as a model democracy, should start writing alarmed letters in the American press every time they see the American president lighting a Christmas tree in his residence, or when president, senators and all show up at the church to hear the National sermon from the pastor.

Fascinating conversation between someone instinctually Bharateeya and someone instinctually ‘western’.

@tamarindtree-z1g It took thoughtful, and more importantly transparent, budgeting over the past 10 years to build the spare capacity to offer the tax break. Spare capacity does not materialize out of thin air. Shri Chidambaram was famous for 'deficit' and off-the-books financing.

People such as Mr. Manish Sisodia are the quiet giants on whose shoulders Indian society rests. There are many others and voters don't always give them the opportunity to put their ideas into action. I am glad that he has the ability to.

I believe Akash is Hindi, Akasa is Samskritam.

Thank you! That is very detailed and very helpful.

Wonderful conversation. I believe the presenter got the pronunciation of Prof. Babones’s name wrong. Important to research such things beforehand.

We predict that it is now or never for young Shri Rahul Gandhi, and he will take the leap with 'great reluctance'.

"This show is so much underrated and why this show is not available on NDTV app on firetvstick. There is no tab for india ascends. ??? Why"

This is a serious threat with military-like escalation and is no longer an 'ethnic clash'. The discussion cannot be just on new channels. The government has to raise the profile of the threat in the Parliament so that the public is prepared for the necessary counter actions.

Parts of Bharat press are taking money to mouth what Shri Soros wants, and breaking public trust. A dangerous situation.

Hollywood shied away from showing interracial couples on screen for the longest time, and even now pussyfoots around the issue. Societies are complicated and have long memories, and need a wise government to forge a strong society. Having said that, this is worrisome. There is no way to justify the Tanishq roll back. The government should do something to heal this rift.

The sooner 'Indian secularism' dies, the better. In its place, may true secularism flourish, based on Sanatan Dharma ethos which welcomes all comers asking only in return that they live and let others live.

@seemabkarbelkar3920 (It looks like my reply got deleted, apologies if you are seeing it twice). I am sorry you feel that way. Indian constitution guarantees equal rights to people of all religions, including Hindus. This is a case that has been running for 4 decades (or 5 centuries depending on how you count), and a temple is being built now after the Supreme Court gave a verdict in favour of the Hindus. This was based on extensive archaeological evidence in support of a large pre-existing temple under the Babri structure, millenia old itihaasa record of Ayodhya and Sarayu, and over five centuries old historical record of Hindu worship at the Ram Janma Bhoomi, not to mention extensive supporting evidence around the world and India of how Turkish conquerors created symbols of power in new lands they entered. If none of these satisfied you, it is unlikely that any evidence will. I won't respond further but would suggest you do this self-assessment for yourself. What is the form of evidence that would have convinced you that the verdict should have gone in favour of the Hindus? How would you have reacted if the verdict went in favour of the Muslims?

sagnik Mukherjee Appreciate your comment. But we all have to continue talking. We can't afford to disengage from each other.

@ May be I should say it again, "It took thoughtful, and more importantly transparent, budgeting over the past 10 years to build the spare capacity to offer the tax break. Spare capacity does not materialize out of thin air.".

"India and the USA are two huge nations, both with growth prospects and shared interests. Trade arrangements and agreements and co-operation between both would prove mutually beneficial."

Weakening the prestige of India's Supreme Court by suggestion, innuendo, and unsupported allegations of bias (actually, smoothly jumping from allegation to conclusion without so much as a pause), does not really suit a distinguished panel such as this.

"When chithambaram was finance minister ,he gave more space to corruption, not progress of nation."

This is great progress. I am curious if the scopes and lenses are made in Bharat?

I am thrilled that AAP got (is getting) back into power! Having said that, it is unrealistic to expect the BJP to unseat AAP which literally swept the polls in the 2015 elections with 67/70, and provided good governance in the last 5 years by many accounts. There was probably little discontent for an opposition to exploit. While most of the panelists are focusing on BJP not coming to power this time, I think the big story is the seat gains that BJP made from last election (3 in 2015 to 18 now). If the trend continues, they will pose a serious challenge to AAP in the next election. And we know that BJP plays the long game.

Like frightened children, senior Congress leaders with grand children and great-grand children of their own, pull on the Great Mother's hand, begging to please, please not abandon them.

Smt. Sonia Gandhi 'offers' to resign :-) The only thing missing from the farce is someone self-immolating demanding that she stays in power.

It is good to see the numbers for USA and Britain, but these are easily available online. What is the number of ventilators in India, and what is the manufacturing capacity? You need to do some leg work there.
