Would you ask Walmart and Amazon India to open up their warehouses of food for free to people in this hour of need?

This is absurd. It is like imposing a special tax on the small diagnostic businesses that the country needs the most now. If it is not 'free' but it will be reimbursed later, call it 'on credit' and then debate the practicality of imposing that on every small business each with their unique cash flow situations.

@pauljohn5011 Walmart stocks food, which arguably is as important for the country as blood tests at the moment. I find the idea about as appalling as asking Diagnostic Labs to give away their product for free.

@jameslan4514 I don't belong to the pharma industry. I also don't think the diagnostic labs are refusing to do the tests. May be follow the example of the great society America where GM insisted on a proper contract from the government before embarking on making ventilators. Don't kill the golden goose.

@tigre1857 The 'free testing' is underwritten by a congressionally passed law that sets aside money to reimburse for the tests. All the details are not clear yet but what is clear is that the US supreme court did not pass an order that all labs should test for free.
