@gmanbo First it was tongue in cheek sarcasm. It doesnt always work. 😖 Second most railway guns were repurposed naval rifles to start with. This YouTube channel actually had a video on a double barrel bolt action rifle in which one bolt handle cycled both barrels. The locking mechanism when I saw it immediately put me in mind of the interrupted thread breeches seen on larger naval rifles https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=duoble+barrel+bolt+action+rifle&&view=detail&mid=F56107935D258ADD732DF56107935D258ADD732D&&FORM=VRDGAR These interrupted thread breaches are in my opinion one of the high points of manual machining operations along with centrifugal turbine rotors prior to CNC technology. One thing most people probably do not know is that a lot of complicated forms that needed to be machined prior to CNC were actually achieved by means of tracing a hand made pattern. This is how the dies for stamping out automotive sheet metal or the tooling for plastic models were produced for just a couple of examples.
