  2. Plus add all the beans, bullets, fuel, artillery shells, guns, butter, uniforms etc for Army and Marine units. Plus the USAAF requirements which includes fighter and medium bomber aircraft, aviation fuel, servicing vehicles, spare parts etc. Plus the equipment supplied to allied nations. Plus food shipped to help feed refugees. Plus any number of things I can't think of right now the amount of shipping supplied by the US and Britian including merchant vessels built during the war to replace losses the total effort is staggering. Just returning troops home post war was a major undertaking. And then consider this was being shipped to the Med, across the Atlantic, the South, Central and Southwest Pacific, India, China and God knows where else.
