When the Mayflour was broken up at the end of her useful life parts of her were used in the construction if a barn in England. Which is still standing.

@rodofiron100 Lockie? Late 1700s? Helped kick off the French Revolution. Which led to The Terror. Napolean as nd pretty much 20 years of non stop war. Yah the knock on effects can be things other than climate downturns and crop failures

As I understand it when archeological digs are done on the middens of Pre-Columbian settlements the remains of Passenger Pigeons are for the most part missing. The PP may well of been a break out species

The lessons of Prohibition seemingly need to be learned over and over.

Live flamingos have been spotted this far north in the summer.

Prior to this time it was quite difficult for a nation to organize a relief effort in the case of a natural disaster. Even inside of a nations own borders it could be difficult. The first major natural disaster that was reported in anything like real time was Krakatoa. Simply because of the number of telegraph cables that had been laid in the years prior.

Now just where did the Frogs get ducked up from.

Hacking as in terms of gaining unauthorized access to systems can also be traced to people hacking phone systems after touch tone phones came into use. Thus was done by playing back sequences of tones each corresponding to 0 through 9. The purpose to make free long distance phone calls. Also at MIT computer students used the schools computers to control the MIT Model Railroad Club's layout in the 50s.

The Titanic was originally designed with enough boats The Eastland was raised and converted to a US Navy Reserve traing ship. In the early 20s she was used to sink a U-boat in Lake Michigan

This isn't the only time in history a politician has made things worse.

The funny thing about Chile's army celebrations is they have a distinctly Prussian flavor. Picklehaub and all.
1
@TheHistoryGuyChannel They also use the picklehaub for ceremonial. Not all but some. See Mark Felton Of course the Chileans were not the only country to adopt German military equipment, training and organization. Argentina comes to mind.

Mentions the '57 Chevy. While a Ford is on screen

Not only was Robert Todd Linclon present t but also was Joshua Lawrence Chamberlin. AKA the Lion of the Union. Chamberlin was also likely the last man to die because of wounds received in the ACW.

Talk Like a Pirate Day started as a joke. And I be Iron Jack Bonney. Arrrrrrg.

I think there was time that the Poles did execute a cavalry charge in 1939. A Polish unit caught a German supply unit unawares and cut them up badly. The Polish 7.92 antitank rifles were actually very effective against Panzer ls and lls. Firing a slandard Lead core Copper Jacketed bullet at over 4000 feet per second. It was capable of causing the armor of early tanks to spawl off sending the material bouncing around the interior. Forgotten Weapons just did a video on them. The picture of the Polish Lancer shows him carrying one.

In the novel Guns of the South about time travelers interfering in the American Civil War Robert E Lee and others upon seizing the headquarters of the bad guys discover an Apple computer. One of them suggests that it called a Qwerty after looking at the keyboard.

I don't think anyone really knows Bong's total number of Japenese planes. When he was "freelancing" he often came back with his ammunition expended. No proof, no claims.

Ah yes. The days when 8 tracks and cassettes littered the side of the road after the player ate the tape. Now you can't get a CD player from the factory. I use recorded audio in the car all the time. But I do not listen to music. Audio books all the way. I only had one car with an 8 track. Hated the 8 track. Wish I would have kept the car. Worth serious money today.

My initial thought was the actor Kenneth Moore

I remember when department stores at least in my area all had a candy counter that featured various types of hard candy, caramels or jujus (think Swedish Fish) . One store eliminated theirs only to bring it back because of too many complaints. Today Jujus are rare. They seem to have been replaced by gummies

In an utterly forgettable Bob Hope movie he plays a supply Sargent in search of a lost shipment of "Milwaukee Holy Water".
