Say you live in an apartment block. You purchase an EV. Now tell me where you are going to charge it. If you expect the owners of the building to put chargers in for you, free of charge (no pun intended), you're dreaming. And those owners could be a private individual or corporation. Or a government body owned building. If its government owned you are expecting the rest of the country to pay for your convienence.

@fx-studio Part of the reason that nuc plants wound up costing more to build is the initial projected construction cost usually doubled due to the 10 plus years they were tied up in court. One thing that France did right is their nuc plants are built to 2 set designs. Initially 1 design that was then upgraded.

@robertkubrick3738 Old joke but it still works. But komrade. The plumber appointment is canceled. State is building new Roman style communal latrines. Only two blocks away.

@fx-studio That was nuclear plants. I knew several people who worked maintenance at a nuke plant. They spent more time doing paperwork than actually working. Multiple forms to record anything they did. Including things that had nothing to do with anything nuclear.

@mrbig7718 How much of a tax break or subsidy did they get for installation paid for by the public at large.

Every EV vehicle owner who thought they were going to get off of having to pay for road infrastructure was dreaming or smoking something. The downside of this is how long is hoing to take for either a politician proposing this for all vehicles (1). Or a court case finds it discriminatory resulting in it applying to all vehicles. Off course applying extra fees and taxes on vehicles and then using that funding to cover transit costs is pretty discriminatory too. 1) Politicians of all stripes are money/spending junkies willing run up everybody elses credit card. The rare elected official who even thinks about a balanced budget or reduced spending is the exception that proves the rule.
