  1. Dr Jerry Pournelle once commented that you cannot predict the future. But you can invent it. Pournelle did make one accurate prediction. On the Tom Snyder show he discussed how you would be able to buy a device that would allow to read books in electronic format. Down to how you be able to get them off of the net.
