  1.  @reactivearmour5126  I have no problem with people calling Kipling a racist or an apologist for Empire. Kipling was a man of his time. What I do have a problem with is when people attempt to judge people from the past by the standards of today.

  2. An English literature course should be restricted to strictly English literature. Advanced courses could be Classic English Literature, Empire English Literature and Modern English Literature. If you want to have a diverse poetry course just call it World Poetry. I hated poetry in school although I did write some decent stuff.

  3. I remember reading some stuff about Robert Anson Heinlein. Raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Graduated from Annapolis. Medically retired from the US Navy due to respiratory problems (TB). The HS he graduated from required three languages including Greek and Latin iirc.
