  1. Japan does face a major demographic problem of an aging population without enough young people entering the workforce. There are only two ways out of that problem. Increased automation. Or immigration of outsiders. If they are going to allow immigrants they would be better off allowing workers from SE Asian countries such as Vietnam, the Phillipines and not from South Asian countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh or Afghanistan.
